Late-night bonding. Secret rituals. Lifelong friendships. The privilege of living in an incredible house. For many, the feeling of sisterhood that comes with joining a sorority is invaluable.

It's no wonder that sorority enrollment is reportedly up 50 percent over the last decade—even at Ivy League universities and women's colleges. While some might occasionally cling to an outdated rap of being anti-feminist, the founding of sororities in the 19th century was actually a progressive act, and today many of the top houses champion women's rights, equality, and public service. And with alumni like Ruth Bader Ginsburg (Alpha Epsilon Phi); Condoleezza Rice (Alpha Chi Omega); Ginni Rometty, the CEO of IBM (Kappa Kappa Gamma); astronaut and NASA physician Anna Lee Fisher (Pi Beta Phi); and Harper Lee (Chi Omega), women who pledge are in top company, too.

Picking the "best" sorority is nearly impossible, so instead we've run the numbers to find out how popular women's fraternities stack up.
